Synopsis:
Based on the early years of Roland Hayes, just before the turn of the century. Lit’l Ro’ is smart, kind, passionate, gentle, friendly, and lots of fun to be around. His voice, personality, and intelligence are vibrantly attractive and inspiring. Lit’l Ro’ enjoys dancing and singing, especially when it comes to religious folk songs (a.k.a. The Spirituals). When the African American ancestors sang spirituals (while in the midst of their struggles), those songs helped them endure hardships. Likewise, Lit’l Ro’ takes us on an excursion through his neighborhood and community areas, introducing us to his family and friends, and sharing new folk songs. These short stories are designed to help readers understand the origins of religious folk songs, and the early years of American society (segregation).
Lit'l Boy Ro' Sings the Spirituals
Here is an interview with Jackson Caesar. Caesar shares with the viewers his passion, idea, vision, and mission about the Roland Hayes Concert/Recital program. (Unlike any recital you've ever attended). Caesar was inspired by the life of Roland Hayes and began an annual tour (since 2010) during Black History Month. Currently booking for concert/recital tours.
This audio documentary was constructed to portray a brief story of Roland Hayes, his life, and the concert experience of singing his favorite songs (The Spirituals).
I am honored and privileged to present to you, a professional recording of a one-man concert production that features: Amazing piano accompaniment, Inspiring narrations, and remarkable percussion instruments.
